Description: A detailed overview of
all the basic concepts and practices involved with horticulture. (This course is not designed for transfer.)
Course Objectives: Upon the completion of this course students should be able to:
- Understand the basic principles of Botany
- Manage soils and irrigation properly
- Demonstrate the production practices used with the common fruits and vegetables of this area
- Understand the basic concepts of lawn management
- Identify different types of horticulture pest and how to properly control them
- Identify the most common horticulture disease and know how to prevent and treat them

Grades are not mailed to students. You must access grades through Web for Students (www.columbiastate.edu ) five (5) working days after grades are required in Admissions.
