Description: An introductory course in the study of turfgrass management as it relates to residential, commercial, recreational, golf course, and athletic field turfgrass. The course includes species identification, maintenance practices, and establishment procedures.

Objectives: Upon completion of this course a student should be able to
complete the following tasks:
1. Understand the scope and opportunities in turfgrass management
in the
2. Define terms associated with turfgrass management.
3. Identify different species of turfgrass and their characteristics.
4. Work with customer turfgrass business.
5. Understand the selection, establishment and maintenance of different turfgrass species.
6. Understand the different equipment used in turfgrass management.

Lab scores will include the following:
1. A detailed plan for a specific turfgrass job site (golf course, athletic field)

Grades are not mailed to students. You must access grades through Web for Students (www.columbiastate.edu ) five (5) working days after grades are required in Admissions.
